Background & Nature of Business
Background & Nature of Business
ENCOT Microfinance Ltd is an indigenous rural community development micro-credit and rural-enterprise development entity, founded as an NGO in 2006 by a group of indigenous community development practitioners in Masindi (UGANDA). The Organization was developed as a response to the challenges of poverty and suffering faced by the rural communities in Masindi, most especially the farmers.
ENCOT Microfinance Ltd started as an academic research project with an objective of investigating the impact of microfinance on agriculture in Masindi. The research evolved into a fully fledged community development organization meant to improve access to appropriate credit and entrepreneurship development services among the marginalized rural communities in the region.
What we do
At the core of our work is providing financial support to individuals, families, and small businesses. We offer tailored solutions that address diverse financial needs, whether it’s starting a business, managing unexpected expenses, or improving livelihoods. Our products are designed to be flexible and accessible, ensuring that clients from all walks of life can benefit. By simplifying the application process and maintaining transparency, we make it easier for people to achieve their financial goals, fostering growth and stability in the communities we serve.
In addition to financial support, we are deeply invested in financial literacy education, micro-enterprise development, and social responsibility initiatives. Through workshops and personalized coaching, we empower clients with the skills to manage their finances wisely and build sustainable futures. We also partner with local communities to nurture small businesses, providing resources and mentorship to help them succeed. Furthermore, our social responsibility projects focus on uplifting communities through initiatives such as youth mentorship, environmental sustainability, and community development. Together, these efforts ensure we’re not just providing financial services but creating meaningful, long-lasting impacts in society.
